Stony Point gets it’s name because the west side of the county adjoins the Hudson River and the shoreline forms a large point. The town has 31.6 square miles with over 12% of that being water.
According to a 2010 census, there were 15,000 residents and that likely has grown along with Rockland county’s increasing numbers.
